Spice Container of Rebbe Rayatz – Letter of Authenticity Signed by Rebbetzin Chanah Gurary, Daughter of the Rebbe
Silver spice container of Rebbe Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn – the Rayatz of Lubavitch.
Spice container for Havdalah, used by Rebbe Rayatz in the 1930s during his travels (fine silver box, originally intended as a jewelry box. With maker's mark: Birmingham, England, 1920).
Letter of authenticity enclosed (handwritten note, in English), from his daughter, Rebbetzin Chanah Gurary: " I hereby gift… the silver traveling בשמים box used by my father from 1932-39. He gave it to me as a gift in 1949".
The letter, which is dated 26th March 1989, is signed (in Hebrew) by Rebbetzin Chanah Gurary (1889-1991), eldest daughter of Rebbe Rayatz and wife of R. Shemaryahu Gurary (Rashag).
Diameter: Approx. 6 cm. Fair-good condition. Bends. Heavy metal base, loose, missing original fabric lining.
