Rare Blessings in the Rebbe's Handwriting, [2] leaves

"Blessings for success and length of days and good, productive years in tranquility and serenity" (From the Rebbe's rare blessings in this letter)

Extremely lengthy and important letter, covering two large leaves, from the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, to the gaon Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin. Brooklyn, New York, 1954. Corrections and glosses in the Rebbe's handwriting along the length of the letter.

In this lengthy and important letter, which is divided into 10 sections and written as a response to Rabbi Zevin's questions, the Rebbe deals with a selection of important topics, private and public, spiritual and political. This letter expresses the characteristic total clarity of the Rebbe's letters. It subjects include: Rabbi Zevin's questions on topics in Tanya and related matters; the chief rabbinate's attitude towards Chareidi issues in general and Chaba"d in particular; the battle against the mission; "And finally, most beloved" in the Rebbe's words - the Encyclopedia Talmudit of which Rabbi Zevin was editor-in-chief. The Rebbe praises this work in his letter very, very much. The great importance of this letter is evident in that the Rebbe thoroughly proofread it and almost every paragraph has many glosses and corrections in the Rebbe's hand.

At the end of the letter, the Rebbe grants blessings rare in their length and importance, as befits a letter of such great importance, "Blessings for success and length of days and good, productive years in tranquility and serenity, M. Schneerson." The word "good" in the blessing for productive years is added in the Rebbe's hand.

[1] leaf paper, approximately 21x28 cm. Official stationery, typewritten, with the addition of dozens of corrections in the Rebbe's hand and with his signature.
