From the foot of the mountain through thousand steps to the top; Chinese ink and watercolour on paper scroll; Attributed to Zhang Daqian; A collection of Zhang Baoluo (the third son of Zhang Daqian); sealed "Xin Yi"; 70.5cm*32.5cm
Since the 50s, among all of Zhang Daqian’s children and apprentice, Zhang Baoluo is the only person who closely took care of him. Besides learning painting skills from Daqian, he took responsibility of escorting paintings to South America, Western Europe and East Asia. Zhang Baoluo also dealt business with galleries as the representative of Zhang Daqian. He is also the person who attended to Daqian’s personal affairs. Zhang Baoluo is one of the keepers of Zhang Daqian’s important seals and paintings.
