A rare photograph of the 'Mashgiach' Rosh Yeshivat Mir and Ponivez Rabbi Yechezkel (R. Hatzkel) Levinstein. 


The Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Levinstein [1885-1974] one of the greatest Torah and Yirah in Poland and Eretz Israel. One of the greatest Ba'aley HaMusar of the last generation, a guide for the many in the ways of  work of g-d. He studied at the Kelmė and Mir yeshivot in Poland. Was a rabbi at the Klocek and Lomza yeshiva. At he eve of the Holocaust moved to the Mir Yeshiva in the United States. In 1954, he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the Ponvez Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. At his funeral, Rabbi Elazar Menachem Shach In an obituary for him said that he had never seen a servant of G-d as Rabbi Yechezkel.


Provenance: The photo came from home of an elderly and important woman from Bnei Brak.
