[HURRICANE - DYLAN]: Rubin ''Hurricane'' Carter (1937-2014) American middleweight Boxer. Carter was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1966 and spent almost twenty years in prison before being released. Carter's autobiography, entitled The Sixteenth Round, which he wrote while he was in prison, was published in 1975 and the story inspired the worldwide acclaimed Bob Dylan song ''Hurricane''(1975), and later the 1999 film The Hurricane, with Denzel Washington in the leading role. A rare signed boxing license renewal application, two pages, to a 5 x 3 blue card, 25th October 1962, the partially printed card shows to the front a small black and white portrait photograph of Carter affixed by a staple. To both sides of the document Rubin Carter hand fills it with his name, address, ring weight, date of birth, manager name, etc.. Signed in bold blue ink by Carter at the bottom `Rubin Carter«, and countersigned by a notary public and the medical examiner. Some of Carter«s written answers being, `No« to the question ''Have you been convicted of a crime since the last license?'', also writing `Carmen Tedeschi«, alongside ''Manager'', his contentious and controversial manager who betrayed Carter when he was arrested. With two binder holes to the upper border, none affecting the written text or signature, and small creasing, otherwise G £600-900
