The renowned sculptor Kosso Eloul [1920-1995]. Native of Russia, immigrated to Israel in 1924 and at age 19 traveled to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. In the summer of 1964 he arrived in Canada by invitation of the International Sculpture Symposium in Montreal, and then settled in Toronto. His sculptures received much acclaim in the United States and Canada and the whole world. One of his most important works is the sculpture known as Eternal Flame in the Yad Vashem museum in Jerusalem. The "flame" is in a large, glittering room, rising out of the stone floor through a bronze sculpture in the form of a broken goblet.
