Album on “The Destruction of Polish Jewry” (Zaglada Zydostwa Polskiego). Lodz 1945.
A multilingual photo album (Polish, Russian, English, French, Yiddish, and Hebrew). With 252 shocking photos from the period testifying to the corruption and destruction of European Jewry, with pictures of the atrocities perpetrated at the concentration camps and death camps. An additional part of the album is dedicated to the Jewish partisan groups. The pictures were mainly taken by German soldiers, and they are still as shocking today as they were in 1946. Published in Poland a number of months after the war, when relatively little was still known about the scale of the genocide committed against the Jews. This album is considered one of the most important books on the Shoah ever published. First edition, Lodz 1945. | Disconnected binding. [21], 104 (photo boards), [15] pages. 32x24cm.
