NAPOLEON I: (1769-1821) Emperor of France 1804-14, 1815. L.S., `Nap´, one page, 4to, Paris, 15th January 1812, to the Duc de Feltre, Minister of War, in French. Napoleon requests `Monsieur the Duc de Feltre, send me the most detailed information regarding the 11th light infantry regiment situation´. At the time of the present letter, Napoleon is preparing the Russian campaign. Accompanied by the small 12mo holograph receipt, neatly pinned to the lower left corner, VG £800-1200 Henri Jacques Guillaume Clarke (1765-1818) Duc de Feltre and Minister of War under Napoleon.
