Letter from leaders of the Sefardi community in support of the Histadrut HaNoar HaAgudati. 1940s.
Recommendation letter from Rabbi Shmuel Shadrovsky for Mizrahi Jews with a request to support him and the Histadrut to strengthen the Mizrahi Eidut. Signatures of rabbis. Letter describes the activities undertaken by the organization. In the margins are signatures of Sefardi rabbis, including Rabbi Yaakov Hai Zrihan (1869-1953), a leader of the Tiberias Rabbinate, who strongly opposed Zionism. He was a student of Rabbi Elazar Elfandery, one of the first signers of a “Yehareg v’al Ya’avor’ for National Service for Girls in his last year of life. Rabbi Meir Vaknin, Rabbi Refael Bibes, Rabbi Refael Abu, Rabbi Asher Zeev Werner, as well as their personal stamps. [1] sheet of paper, 31x21cm.
