9 letters on different issues to Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Shatzdarovitzky. Most are on letterhead of Rabbi Brook or the yeshiva. Rabbi Haim Eliezer Benzion Brook (?-1986) was a graduate of the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva who entered the Novhardok yeshiva in his youth following the events of World War I, and became a sage of mussar. Established the Novhardok Beit Yosef yeshiva in Jerusalem, and authored Hegionei Mussar. Throughout his life he supported the Rebbe and travelled to visit him. Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Shatzdarovitzky (1907-1978) was the son of Rabbi Meir Shalom, the Admor of Kovrin-Bialystock, who was the son-in-law of Rabbi Menachem Nachum Epstein, founder of the Chassidic dynasty. Rabbi Shmuel Aharon married the daughter of Rabbi Pinchas Issachar, the Admor of Pinchov Sosnowitz. As a young avrech he was appointed secretary of the Agudat Yisrael in Vilna, and was close to Rabbi Haim Ozer Grodzinsky. During World War II he managed to escape and reached Israel in 1943. | The letters are in various sizes and conditions, with signs of folding. Generally good condition.
