Rare signature of the Admor the Imrei Menachem of Alexander on a Gamach form from Jerusalem, 1947.
Form on receipt of a loan in exchange for collateral from the Sha’arei Chesed Gamach, 1947, signed by the Admor of Alexander, the Imrei Menachem. This signature is rare and special since the Rabbi signed his name according to his original family name (“Tyberg”) before he changed his name to Dancyger (see below). The Admor Rabbi Avraham Menachem Dancyger (1921-2005) was the Admor of Alexander and member of the Council of Torah Sages. He was the son of Admor Emunat Moshe of Alexander. He moved to Israel in 1934 together with his mother and father, and settled in Jerusalem. In 1947, after the burning of this magnificent branch of Hasidism, the remains of the Chasidim crowned the Rebbe the Emunat Moshe as the Rebbe and he instructed his son, Emrei Menachem, to change his surname from Tyberg to Dancyger to symbolize the continuation of the dynasty.
