ELISABETH OF HESSE: (1864-1918) Princess Elisabeth of Hesse and by the Rhine, granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna of Russia as spouse of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich of Russia, son of Tsar alexander II and brother of Tsar Alexander III. After Sergei´s assassination in 1905, Elisabeth departed the Imperial Court and became a nun. She was murdered by the Bolsheviks. In 1981 she was canonized.
