A segula book: Chumash Heichal HaBracha, the rare section of Genesis—chassidut. First edition 1869
Book of Genesis with the commentary Heichal HaBracha, based on secrets of the Ari and the Ba’al Shem Tov, by the Admor Rabbi Yitzhak Yehuda Yehiel Saprin, Av Beit Din of Komarna. Printed by Pesil Balaben during the author’s lifetime in Lemberg 1869. Genesis is the rarest section of the work, though all sections are considered important and rare. Two covers. [2] 283, [9] pages. Stefanski Chassidut 218. No introduction.
Repairs to the covers, the last page, and a number of other places. Tears, stains, moth holes, wear. Old binding with a cloth spine. Generally good condition. Two interesting notes in the margins of the pages, the author’s identity was not checked. Copies of this chumash are considered segula books, and foundational works of chassidut and kabbalah. These chumashim merited special appreciation from Admorim of all stripes (Zidichov, Sanz, the Rashab of Lubavitch and more). In a letter written by the author to residents of Ungvarn regarding the distribution of this work, the author wrote a special blessing and segula: “I have guaranteed that any who hold a copy of this Chumash in his home will be saved from all evil and from diseases and from lack; may his house be filled with blessings and good things and success and happiness and richness and long life.”
