A set of Zohar Chai [Komarno] – first edition Lemberg/Permishla, 1875-1881
The book Zohar Chai, a comprehensive work on the Zohar and the Sifra D’Tzniuta, kabbalah with a chassidic approach by the Rebbe Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Komarno. Before us are all the parts of the book, some incomplete. 5 volumes, Stefansky Chassidut 195. Volume one: Bereishit part one – Lemberg 1875. 1-215. Title page and introduction are missing. Volume two: Bereishit part two – Lemberg 1875. [1], 216-456, [1]. Volume three: Shemot part one – Permishla, 1878. [4], 166 leaves. Volume four: Shemot part two – Permishla, 1878. [2], 285 [should be: 287] leaves. Volume five: Vayikra, Bamidbar, Devarim – Permishla, 1881. 69-228 leaves. An incomplete copy, title page through page 99. The last leaf is slightly blemished. An important ancient gloss about calculations of the final redemption. New matching bindings, spines and leather corners slightly degenerating. Slight blemishes in several places. good overall condition. Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac [Yitzchak Isaac Yehuda Yechiel Safrin] (1806-1874), son of Rabbi Alexander Sender of Komarno and the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Mordechai of Pintshov. His father died when he was 12 and he grew up in the house of his uncle Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov, who was his teacher. One of the foremost disciples of the Ohev Yisrael from Apta. Succeeded his father in Komarno where he became known as a miracle worker, and many people flooded to him. It was known to be a special segulah to have his books in the house. Author of the book Heichal Habracha on the Five Books of the Torah and many other books.
