Zagonek Vyacheslav Frantsevich (1919, Irkutsk – 1994, Saint-Petersburg).
People’s artist of the RSFSR. Honored artist of the RSFSR and honored worker of art of the RSFSR, active member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, laureate of I.E. Repin State Prize of the RSFSR. Studied at Leningrad secondary art school (1936-39), at I.E. Repin Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture (1945-50). Graduate work was made under the direction of B.V. Ioganson. Participated in exhibitions since 1939. Personal exhibitions took place in 1966 (Leningrad, Moscow), 1970 (Saratov, Izhevsk, Kazan), as well as in Warsaw (1965). The works of the artist are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian State Museum, many regional museums.
