Pozhedaev George Anatolevich (1897, village Polezhaevka, Kursk province - 1971, Paris).

Since 1908 took lessons from J.F.Tsioglinskiy. Since 1915 studied at the Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under A.E.Arhipenko and N.A.Kasatkin, then in the Academy of arts under D.N.Kardovskiy and G.R.Zalemana. Worked for theatres of Petrograd, for the Bolshoy theatre in Moscow. In 1920 immigrated to Romania. Worked at the National theatre in Bucharest. In Prague executed the sceneries for Anna Pavlovo's troupe. 
In 1921-1924 lived in Berlin and Vein. Since 1925 - in Paris. Worked for theatre « The Bat " N.F. Baliev, made out performances of Russian repertoire in Madrid and Barcelona. Wrote the landscapes of Paris and Province, still-lives, created graphic portraits. Since 1920 worked a lot in book the graphics illustrated N.V.Gogol, M.JU.Lermontov, F.M.Dostoevsky, and A.P.Chekhov’s masterpieces. The gentleman of the award of the Honorable legion (1953).
Personal exhibitions of the artist passed in Berlin (1922), t he studio “Neye Gallery” in Vein (1924), in Paris galleries of L. Reiman (1946).

The works of the artist are presented in the museums of Berlin, Paris and in Russian and foreign private collections.
