Zaitsev Nikolay Egorovich (born in 1940, Oryol).
Honored Artist of Russia. Studied at the Savitsky Penza Art College until 1963 and then at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute from 1968 to 1974. From 1975 to 1977 he worked at the Painting Studio of the Academy of Arts of the USSR under M. Korzhev and later under A. Tkachev and S. Tkachev. He joined the Artists’ Union of the USSR in 1977. Nikolay Zaitsev participated in exhibitions at national, republic and city levels. He was awarded a medal of the Academy of Arts for his diploma work in 1975, a honorary diploma of the Academy of Arts of the USSR in 1976, and a silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR in 2004. In 1975/1976 the artist taught at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. Nikolay Zaitsev’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in many regional museums, and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
