Okitashvili Vazha Shotaevich (born 1952)
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2017). Member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (2000). Member of the International Academy of Creativity (2013). In 1979 he graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, specializing in painting, supervisor Z.K. Tsereteli. In the 1990s, he worked at the Union of Designers of Georgia in Tbilisi. In 1992, he moved to Moscow. Since 1993, he has participated in many projects: Poklonnaya Gora, Manezhnaya Square, the monument to Peter I in Moscow, the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the construction of the "crystal" chapel of Alexander Nevsky. Since 2000, he has worked at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. In the same year, he joined the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and began to actively participate in various exhibitions. He was awarded the TSKh Bronze (2009), Silver (2010) and Gold (2011) medals for his contribution to Russian culture. In 2011, he became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and in 2013 he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, as well as a member of the International Federation of Artists. He works as a graphic artist and painter. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. He has been awarded numerous awards. He has received letters of gratitude from the Russian Academy of Arts. The artist's works are in the collection of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and other museum and private collections in Russia and abroad.
