Tractate Bava Metzia with Rashi, Tosafot and Rabbenu Asher. Cracow 1603. Signature of Rabbi Jacob Israel Carmi.

Books printed in Cracow are considered extremely rare as most were destroyed during Polish pogroms. Additionally, because Bava Metzia is one of the tractates most studied in Yeshivot, copies are heavily used and rarely found in a well-preserved state. In general, libraries do not possess copies of Bava Metzia.

The title page carries the signature of Rabbi Jacob Israel Carmi. R' Carmi was a student of ‘The Rishon LeZion’, Rabbi Moshe Attias, and served as a Chief Rabbi in Reggio, Italy.

Cracow 1603. Issac Prostitz.
118 leaves (lacking leaf 37). 29 cm.
Overall good to average condition. The second leaf is completed by hand.
A few old adhesions, and tearing affecting text in a few places. Magnificent, new binding.
Otzar Hasefer Database, No. 59613.
