Odessa Printing house of T. Neumann and Co. 1848-1849. Part 1: 1848. IX, [2], 117, [1], 9 l. Il., map., plan. H. 2: 1848. 88, [1] s., 11 l. Il., plan. H. 3: 1 semi-leather binding, 24 x 28.5 cm. Condition: Good, the bindings are worn, part 1 and 3 losses on the spine. Prints of a nonexistent library.

The historical and artistic significance of this publication is difficult to overestimate. The book is undoubtedly rare and expensive. Its cultural significance is based on a magnificent illustrative material, which is a description of the antiquities of the Bosporan Kingdom, found in mounds located on the shores of the Black sea. These antiquities are preserved partly in the Kerch Museum, and partly in the Hermitage, which houses the largest collection of them. Anton Baltazarovich Ashik (1801-1854)— Russian official, historian and archaeologist, Director of the Kerch historical and archaeological Museum. He collected rare publications, works of art, etc. His rare finds of Antiques, many of which have enriched the St. Petersburg Imperial Hermitage, provided Ashiq honorary and monetary awards the government (in particular, he was awarded the order of Vladimir of the 4th century, St. Stanislaus 2-nd St., St. Anne 2nd St.). For the monograph "Bosporskoe the Kingdom..." awarded reviews and short Demidov prize of the Commission of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences. Ashik's works have always been considered valuable materials for researchers in the field of archaeology.
