[Ivan Mikhailovich Maisky (real name and surname — Jan Lyakhovetsky; 1884-1975) - Soviet diplomat, historian and publicist.
For the first time, the term "democratic" counter-revolution was used by I. M. Maysky as a collective name for the initial stage of the Civil War, during which the leading role in the anti - Bolshevik camp was played by representatives of the petty-bourgeois democracy-the Mensheviks and Social Revolutionaries. This period, in his opinion, lasted until the Kolchak coup. Subsequently, the term was actively used by researchers, although there was no consensus about the chronological framework of this stage.]
