Armenian ceramics - a large, early and beautiful urn, Palestine, with spectacular hand paintings from the early 1930s, with a mark - David Ohansian's workshop.
A spectacular vessel from the early 1930s, made in Ohansian's workshop in the style of early Islamic ceramics - Iznik, with spectacular and very early hand paintings typical of Turkish ceramics from the 16th century. The urn with rare deep colors on a background, extremely rare, deep cobalt blue, colors Prominent and rare..
The vessel is large with great presence and unusual colors.
The urn is marked on the bottom with a characteristic mark of Ohansian's workshop.
The bowl is made of thin material, Ohansian was an expert and famous potter in the world of Armenian ceramics, the technique used to create this bowl indicates that it is very early, probably even from the 20s when Ohansian was still conducting experiments regarding the clay with sand from Israel versus sand that was brought on camels from the north Syria, border of Turkey.
For several years he made experiments until he found the formula we know from the 1930s onwards.
According to the color of the clay, the thickness of the sides, this bowl could have been created in an early period, 1920 - 1925, a period when the paintings on the vessel were still less influenced by the region of Israel and Jerusalem and more closely related to the Islamic origin.
The height of the pitcher is about 26
