Lofty and Sacred! The Admo"r of Husiatyn's Passover Haggadah
Passover machzor, including (paginated separately) the Passover Haggadah that was used by the wondrous and sacred tzaddik, the Admo"r Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Husiatyn, during Seder Night - the night of salvations, for decades. (The haggadah was printed approximately 40 years before his passing.) Along all the haggadah's leaves are many usage marks and wine stains, characteristic of haggadahs. The Admo"r's stamp appears at the top of the title page: "Library of Yisrael Friedman of Husiatyn."
Personal machzor with which the sacred Rebbe of Husiatyn poured out his heart with his wondrous prayers during the first of the festivals - Passover, with which he worked his famous supernatural salvations for the community and for individuals. The machzor includes (separately paginated) the renowned wonder-worker's Passover haggadah as well, from which the Rebbe performed his awesome service on the first night of the holiday, which, according to the Ar"i's writings and according to Chassidic tradition, is the most lofty night of the entire year, as well as being the night with the greatest revelations by Chassidic tzaddikim and luminaries - 'Leil HaSeder.'
As stated, the haggadah is decorated along its entire length with dozens of wine remnants - shirayim that dripped over the years from the Rebbe's 'four cups, ' until his passing, while he whispered the concealed words of the haggadah. As was his way, only his lips moved; his voice was not heard. It is most thrilling and exciting to contemplate how the wine stains and the tear stains increase and intensify - as if telling us that in these passages of the haggadah, the Rebbe was further and further released from physicality. For example, during the sons' questions 'Mah Nishtanah, ' when, as was known, Chassidic tzaddikim of the generations would ingratiate themselves as a son before his father - the wine and tear stains are very numerous. (In contrast, during the father's response to the four questions, 'Avadim Hayinu, ' these marks decrease - who shall understand the secrets of tzaddikim?) Later on, in the paragraphs 'VaNitzak el Hashem' and the paragraphs 'b'morah gadol - zu gilui Shechinah' - there are again many wine and tear stains. And obviously, in the simanim (דצ"ך עד"ש באח"ב) and the ten plagues, when it is traditional to spill drops of wine from the goblet, there are also many stains, and so on, until 'Chassal Siddur Pesach.'
