Wonderful Shanah Tovah Letter from the Rebbe. Days of Selichot, 1964

"Have a good sweet new year, materially and spiritually"

Letter loaded with the most wonderful blessings for a good year, signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch. Brooklyn, New York, Yemei HaSelichot [Elul], 1964.

The rebbe, in his sacred way, increases his blessings to the extent that he covers all a person could want or desire. The Rebbe's words are as follows: "For the upcoming new year, I hereby express my blessing to [you], a blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually, BiVrachah, M. Schneerson."

Tzaddikim over the generations, as well as Chassidim and other people who were able, would hold something in their hands that had belonged to a tzaddik, as a segulah for their prayers to be answered. This is a well-known and ancient matter. It is so important and calming to hold an expert amulet in one's hands during the high holidays, one signed by a tzaddik of the generations who blesses/promises: to be written and signed for a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually - can one ask for anything more?!

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

The Rebbe was already known as a supernatural wonder-worker in his lifetime, and he enacted miracles like the ancients. This is common among true leaders of the Jewish people, in all generations and across all circles. The innovation for Lubavitcher Rebbe was that even after he passed away, – so say Chaba”d Chassidim – his printed letters, and all the more so his manuscripts, still enact miracles no less – and possibly even more – than during his lifetime, as our Sages said (Chulin 7b): “Tzaddikim are greater after their deaths than during their lifetimes”!

[1] leaf, 14X21cm. The Rebbe's official stationery, typewritten, and signed by him with a blue pen.

Very fine condition.
