Seder Chinuch Ben Yehudit - Proclamation Calling for Founding a School for Jewish Youths. Oradea [Rumania] 1920

Seder Chinuch Ben Yehudit, booklet 1. Proclamation calling for founding a "School for Jewish Youths with a Library of Jewish Books" in the name of the city's children - Jovendo Oradea-Mare system -  Transylvania [Rumania], 1920. Stencil print of a handwritten copy. Rare.

The proclamation calls for strengthening self-criticism in Torah study and mitzvah observance against the spiritual disintegration of the Zionist movement which is threatening the religiosity of the city's children. 'Who's blind? Who's crazy? And who's the fool who denies the need for action, the house of Israel must be examined! And if not now, when? ... Stand on the rock to voice with your mouth, to state in public that which you think in your heart ... a strange fire is in our midst! ... Hebrew fire, nationalist fire shall not be kindled on the alter with the Hebrew fire ...  the manner of education is found in Ethics of the Fathers: There we read, "Moshe received the Torah from Sinai" ... What will become of the children of the seminar? What will become of the children of a school whose main study is Felix, Briger and is satisfied with a scant bit of Tanach in the guise of awe and with the sprawling of kosher hooves? ...Call out truth, raise your eyes and see in actual fact a young man who learned in the Pressburg yeshiva, Sighet, in Pest, and completed diligent study there, and imagine a vision of a young man who will study at a place which will constitute an educational home for the youth of Israel ... then you will feel the advantage of light over darkness ... we will attempt to build a tabernacle ... to establish quickly now: A School for Jewish Children.'

Rare publication, does not appear in libraries around the world. This proclamation was published in only a few copies, distributed locally.

[15] leaves. 23 cm. Book cover. Detached leaves.
