Likutei Moharan - Apta - Regensburg, 1947 - special edition for She'erit HaPleita
Likutei Moharan Regensburg, 1947 - Photo edition of Apta 1938 printing in the year דעו בני כי אין יאוש בעולם' - '. A rare edition that was printed especially for the She'erit HaPleita according to the Apta edition that was printed nine years earlier. A special title page for this edition, Memory leaf, and title page of the Apta edition. Another title page for Likutei Moharan Tinyana.
The edition before us was printed in Germany in 1947, for Holocaust survivors, and is considered extremely rare, since Gmarot, Pentateuchs, and Siddurim were usually printed for the survivors. Rabbi Zvi Reichman saw fit that the book 'Likutei Moharan' is no less necessary than the other holy books that were hastily printed for the survivors.
The title page of the original edition (and also the one photographed before us) reads the detail of the year: "דעו בני כי אין יאוש בעולם" - "Know my son that there is no despair in the world" - A sentence that reflects the survivors in their situation and which was written as the number of the year in advance as stated in 1938. On the page after the title page is a special leaf "Lezecher Olam" with names of Jews who perished in the Holocaust in Belzec and the Warsaw ghetto, among them the name of the saint Rabbi Pinchas ben R. Benzion a disciple of R. Elchanan Wasserman.
